Dr. Cara Dixon, Owner


Dr. Dixon is the owner of Ark Veterinary Hospital.  She attended Michigan State University for her undergraduate degree in Zoology, and she then went on to Ross University on the island of St. Kitts for her degree in Veterinary Medicine, and then completed her clinical year at Purdue University.  She has special interests in surgery, exotic medicine and dentistry.   Dr. Dixon loves connecting with clients and getting the opportunity  to see her patients and to really know them. 


Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dogs, and skiing.  Her pets include a border collie mix, a rescue greyhound, turtles, a hairless cat, and a werewolf cat.

Dr. Sarah Frocillo


Dr. Frocillo joined Ark Veterinary Hospital as an associate veterinarian in 2024. She obtained a Bachelors of Science in Zoology from Michigan State University, and then went on to obtain a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri. Dr. Frocillo has special interests in emergency medicine, anesthesia, and diagnostic imaging.


In her free time, Dr. Frocillo enjoys reading, practicing yoga, and spending time with her nephew. She loves practicing medicine across a wide variety of species, but holds a special place in her heart for guinea pigs.

Dr. Adrienne Pesavento


Dr. Pesavento became an associate veterinarian at Ark in 2024. She attended the University of Evansville and obtained a Bachelors degree in classical archaeology. She then went on to Louisiana State University where she obtained a Master's degree in physical anthropology. She attended Ross University of Veterinary Medicine and obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She is currently in a residency program for veterinary behavior at Oakland Veterinary Referral Services. 


In her free time Dr. Pesavento enjoys crochet, cross stitch, sewing and dog training. She loves spending time with her family and her three pugs Gary, Captain and Terra. 


Our Support Staff

Hollie, Office Manager

Hollie joined Ark in 1996 after a visit here with her pet hamster, where she was offered a  receptionist position. She has been here ever since with a smile for all of our clients, and some extra love for the patients!


Hollie shares her life with her husband, 2 children, and her spicy orange cat, Murray Meatball Monster. In her spare time, Hollie loves cooking and gardening and enjoys DIY home-improvement projects.

Karen, Receptionist

Karen has been in the Veterinary field on and off since 2013, and joined us at Ark in 2021. She enjoys socializing with our clients and keeps our hospital running smoothly!


Karen particularly loves to see our chinchilla patients, though her favorite animal is otters. Karen enjoys spoiling her 3 cats (Fallon Grey, Harley Quinn, and Loki Thor) and enjoys music and watching wrestling in her spare time.


Christine, LVT

Christine has been with Ark since 2007.  She received her Veterinary Technician degree from Macomb Community College.  Her love for animals has driven her career!  Seeing the owner and pet relationship is the best part of her job.


Outside of work, Christine and her husband enjoy spending time traveling and spoiling their daughter and son.

Stevie, LVT, KPA-CTP

Stevie graduated from Michigan State University in 2007, the Macomb Community College Veterinary Technician program in 2010, and Karen Pryor Academy Professional Dog Training program in 2016. She has a special interest in positive reinforcement training, cooperative care, and behavior.


Outside of work, Stevie enjoys training her own dogs (Kirby and Rigatoni) and competing in Nosework trials. She also likes gardening, reading, and caring for her axolotl and fish tanks.


Sarah, LVT

Sarah has been working in the field since 2016 and graduated from Macomb Community College's Veterinary Technician program in 2019. She loves working with exotic animals, with a special interest in avian patients.


Sarah has a Great Pyrenees mix named Lady and two Quaker parrakeets named Burt and Lacie.


Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, watching movies, drawing, painting, and reading.

Beth, LVT

Beth has been with Ark through her second internship from Macomb Community College in early 2019. Beth graduated from their Veterinary Technician program in May 2019 and passed her VTNE to achieve her license in August of 2019. Beth had always wanted to work with animals and found her calling in caring for them and educating owners as a Technician. Beth enjoys all the animals we see and has special interests in exotics medicine, especially parrot husbandry.


Beth spends her time outside of work with friends and family, and enjoys movies, books, and spending time with her dogs (Greta and Hunter), cat (Felix), and parrots (Charlee, Jitterbug, and Lieutenant).


Autumn, LVT

Autumn started at Ark through an internship during her attendance at Macomb Community College, and has been with us since. She graduated from the Veterinary Technician program in May of 2020 and achieved her license shortly after. Autumn has a special place in her heart for the exotic patients, and particularly loves her poodle patients.


In her free time, Autumn is a big fan of art and loves painting, crafting, jewelry-making, clay sculpting. You can even find her making portraits. Our mural in our lobby was created by her! Autumn has an interest in Japanese cultue and knows the language.

Alyssa, LVT

Alyssa completed her final internship with us and joined our team in June of 2020 after graduating from Macomb Community College's Veterinary Technician program and passing the VTNE! Alyssa loves being able to care for animals, particularly exotics!


In her free time, Alyssa enjoys traveling, spending time outside, and attending craft shows or festivals. During her down time she loves reading with her three cats, Ginger, Bubba, and Teddy. 


Jennie, LVT

Jennie graduated from Baker College of Clinton Township with her AAS in 2011. She passed the state and national board exams and got her Veterinary Technician license in 2011. Jennie joined our team in 2022 after working at several general practices and a rehabilitation facility.


Jennie enjoys working with exotics, nutrition counseling, and alternative therapies for pain management. She shares her home with her husband, her chocolate lab Brownie, cat Aramis, dove Lovey Dovey, and ball python Timmy. In her free time she enjoys motorcycles, time at her cabin, camping, rock hunting, and reading.


Lacy, Assistant

Lacy graduated from Ross Medical School in 2021 where she earned her Vet Assistant license, and started work with us shortly after. Lacy loves working with all the animals we see!


Outside of work, Lacy spends her time going to movies, reading, and loves being outdoors hiking or at parks with her 2 children. Lacy has 4 dogs (Sunny, Max, Oliver, and Duke) and can be found at home cuddling with her 2 cats (Rosie and Posie).

Val, Assistant

Val began her career as a veterinary assistant at Ark Veterinary Hospital in 2022, and has always enjoyed working with pets and their owners. Val started working with animals in 2001, and has been in the veterinary field since 2015. She loves all animals but has a special spot in her heart for cats and rats.


When Val is not at work, she enjoys rollerblading, ice skating, skydiving, and spending time with her wonderful cat Nala, as well as her pet rats.


Myles, Resident Feline

Myles is a new addition to our hospital as of June 2024, and came with his bonded buddy, Miranda. Though you may not see him often because he is learning boundaries with our patients, Myles is a friendly, curious cat. His favorite hobby is bird and squirrel watching out the windows, where you may see him from time to time!

Miranda, Resident Feline

Miranda is a new addition to our hospital as of June 2024 and was adopted with her bonded buddy, Myles. Miranda is shy and not very used to people, so her favorite place to hang out is the basement of the building. Fear not - she lives a cushy life with various couches, blankets, and pet beds to choose from!
